What a wonderful start to his education our son received at Lake Country Montessori - for four blissful
years he was nurtured, loved for the person he is and guided along a path of learning which was everything
a parent could have wished for. He went to school everyday with a growing excitement - sometimes not
knowing what new educational adventure was in store and sometimes knowing EXACTLY what he wanted
to learn that day. The Montessori method is normally praised for the strong academic foundations
it lays - in reading, writing and mostly mathematics. He learned ALL that. But also so much more.
Here, he learned to love the earth we live in, respect the life that is around us, appreciate the
diversity of the cultures that inhabit the world, and MOST of all to be accepting and loving of others.
LCM and his teachers there allowed him to become the person he was meant to be and to watch in wonder and joy
while his friends blossomed around him!

At first we sent our child to this school because we wanted Montessori education for him at a reasonable price.
He has been with the school for 2 years and we can see how much he has grown intellectually and also socially.
Unlike traditional schools or day cares, montessori schools provide children with an environment that stimulates
their love for learning. My son is only five and I was sooo..... impressed when he first wrote his report
on Mongolia. Well, now he writes so many other reports on not just countries but also on planets, volcanos and
so on... If I had forgotten to mention, his math skills are great too. He does Additions and Multiplications
with so much ease. I am so glad he goes to Lake Country Montessori because this is the age when the child develops
a passion to learn and gets individual attention as needed... And the teachers here are so dedicated to providing the
best guidance and direction towards learning. This has also provided me with an opportunity to learn a little bit about
what Montessori education is... As parents, we love this school and are very happy to be a part of this wonderful community.

My son and I came to visit LCM in summer of 2005 and we both fell in love with this beautiful school.
We had visited a few other schools and Montessories but we felt the warmth as soon as we entered the classroom.
From then on it was the best thing I did for my child. The school has developed in him a deep passion for learning
and opened up the world for him. Specially The Third year I was not sure first but now turning back I think I did
the best decision for my child. The school has given him a solid base of math & reading.
The school community is very active and enthusiastic. I am proud to be a LCM parent.

Our son was at the Lake Country Montessori (LCM) for three years.
He went to a traditional day-care before that. One of our friends told us about LCM and
encouraged us to go and take a first hand look. When we went there, the first thing that struck us
was how organized and quiet the entire set up was as opposed to the general chaos at the day-care
that my son attended. All the children were completely absorbed in their individual activity.
Another thing we noticed was that it was a mixed age group and it was simply wonderful to watch the
older children mentor and take care of the younger students. We made up our mind then and there to move
our kid out of the chaotic day care in to Lake Country Montessori.
Over the three years we have watched, in amazement, our child transform and blossom in the LCM environment.
One of the characteristics of the LCM environment is that the teachers do not force lessons and activities
on the children. Each child is free to choose their own activity or work for the day. Usually they are inspired
by what they have seen their peers and older children work on. They keep on working at it until they decide
that they have attained mastery at it. The concept is so simple and yet so fragile. Each child has an incredible
thirst for knowledge and that thirst drives them to touch and feel and probe and question every little thing
about the world. They usually learn most from their peers and mentors. At LCM, it appears that they use montessori
materials that are designed to intrigue the child and make them explore every aspect of it until they discover and
learn fundamental concept behind it. Being a mixed-age environment, the younger students learn from the older ones
and the older children learn to mentor and lead the younger ones. It is simply amazing to watch that happen over
and over again with every child at LCM.
Another thing I want to mention is that we did our personal research on Montessori schools in the area and found
that the LCM tuition was cheaper by a couple of thousand dollars than every school in that region. In this economy,
a few thousand dollars make a serious difference.
LCM also has a lot of parental activity. The moms and teachers organize a Father-Child breakfast event every year.
Similarly the dads organize a Mother-Child breakfast every year. It is simply wonderful. They also have several
gatherings throughout the year. The ones I liked most were the Parent Education nights where the lead teachers
talk about specific Montessori education topics such as how the children learn Math, Language, Arts, Geography,
Science etc. Every time, after the presentation, I leave convinced completely that my kid is getting the best possible
education a child can have... and that this is the way every child should learn.
Finally, a word about the teachers at LCM. They are simply phenomenal. They are so kind, nurturing and loving and
the amount of care and attention they shower on each child is incredible. Without these teachers, LCM cannot possibly
be as wonderful as it is today. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my child.

If anyone should write a review it should be us since we send four children to Lake Country Montessori
in Hartland,WI. My wife and I wanted to give them the best learning enviroment possible. My oldest daughter
was able to read at age 5 and my son could do simple math at 4. Montessori teaches respect to other children
and themselves. We joined based on a lot of research into preschools, since we wanted the very best.
The study of Montessori kids vs Non-montessori kids as featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was
the deciding factor of choosing Lake Country Montessori vs Wee-know. They make sure each child can read,
write, and do math effectively before even first grade. We wanted the best for our children and truely believe we received it.

We have 4 boys that have attended and are currently attending Lake Country Montessori school. Both older boys
entered grade school at the top of their class and were identified as gifted/talented by their
teachers. I am totally amazed at the capacity children have for learning that the Montessori school
easily and naturally taps into. By four years old, my children were reading and had grown to read
chapter books and encyclopedias by age 5 - 5.5.
The school is very strong in mathematics and science -
all concepts are presented visually. My son loved classifying cards with different leaves and animal
species. He also completed maps of the World, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Australia,
Asia and Antartica. He labeled every country and has gained an intimate knowledge of geography.
The children are encouraged to seek knowledge for the joy of learning and were thrilled to learn new skills.
Upon entering conventional grade school, the thrill of learning quickly became a chore. I wish we could
have continued in the Montessori school.
